Semilla Monte Alegre was born with the vision of creating, supporting and regenerating ecologically sustainable living spaces where children and future generations can grow up in harmony with Nature, far from pollution, stress and the competitive environment of cities and urban centres. Energetically optimal spaces where people of different generations and nationalities can interact, work in a sustainable way, and even live together in a peaceful environment that encourages altruism and collective learning, as well as the synergies that arise from intercultural, interdisciplinary and intergenerational exchange of knowledge.
Located in a beautiful landscape area in the heart of the Axarquia region of Malaga, and within an environmentally friendly work environment, our project promotes in this first phase, – betting on renewable energies for the implementation of the project – the following aspects:
-
Permaculture
-
Sustainable organic agriculture
-
Bio-construction
-
Reforestation and the creation of Sensory Botanical Gardens and SensoryForests with aromatic and medicinal plants, shrubs and trees native to the area and from all over the world.
-
Environmental awareness raising
-
Holistic education/training
-
Global knowledge network
-
Music, dance and the arts in general
-
Alternative healing therapies, etc.
The project is aimed first and foremost at the local population, but also welcomes all those interested in joining this growing network, as well as people interested in ecotourism and “experiential tourism” who would like to share their knowledge or participate in the programming. The courses and seminars planned for this first phase are aimed at young people, women, farmers, and those interested in learning about Permaculture, syncretic-biodynamic agriculture, wild edible, aromatic and medicinal plants, renewable energies, bio-construction, healthy cooking, “Taketina”, Dragon Dreaming, etc.
Likewise, free education, media and technology play an important role in the global vision of the Monte Alegre project in the medium term with the setting up of a School of Free Education related to agro-ecological projects and an Intercultural Centre for art, creativity, media and holistic healing.
Thinking “globally” and acting “locally” the intention is to feed back into the “regional” mutual support network we have been working on for years in order to cooperate together in the great mission of creating a greener and more sustainable environment for the future of the earth and the next generations.
