Rakel Dominguez, the guardian and founder of IKI-GAIA who is finishing this October her intensive certified training on Schetinin's pedagogy and holistic model in Germany and Austria with ISKA (International Academy of culture and sport which has the permission of Schetinin to do trainings on this pedagogy outside Russia, She had the privilege to participate with a group of 8 Germans in a very special intensive seminar where she had the opportunity to get to know and feel the atmosphere of the school, the model and the educational community live! !

BELONGING, TO FEEL THAT WE ARE PART

The reality that we observe is, that this systemic crisis which we are living in a more conscious way since the so-called "health crisis" has exploded, and which has been added to the (wrongly) called climate change crisis and all the others (capitalist, demographic, values, etc.), has served to help the awakening and action of many people who - in addition to a life more consistent with their values - seek solutions in the rural world.

Finding an alternative network for the exchange of products and services, a network of mutual support, parenting groups, opportunities for the creation of rural employment, etc., are some of the desires that drive us to search for the ideal place where this can happen. In short, what we (almost) all seek, as the social beings that we are (who need each other), is to BELONG, to feel that we are part of a group of belonging and to surround ourselves with people with similar ideals, objectives and values where relationships are nurtured and where there is respect and LOVE.
Many of us also seek to be surrounded by people who have the attitude to grow, look inside themselves and, above all, are capable of overcoming the challenges and conflicts inherent in relationships. That is, beings capable of overcoming their fears (vibrating in love), seeing conflict as an opportunity (not to follow patterns of flight or non-confrontation) and cooperating for the greater good (the shared vision).

Where do we find beings (inspirers and role models) who are on this path of individual/group development? Where do we find opportunities to develop in this direction?
Clearly, intentional communities and ecovillages are the ideal breeding ground for living (accelerating) these processes and learning from them.

The history of these realities demonstrates that, by being in these projects, united by a shared vision and a co-creating mission (by putting the focus on that GREATER GOOD), great feats and DREAMS that require much effort and coordination (attunement) become viable and materialize almost magically!!!
The key to success is undoubtedly the links between the relationships that are created in these nurtured spaces where all voices are heard and contribute. Spaces that, as in the real world, are full of challenges and processes, but where, thanks to the nurturing environment and protocols that exist, challenges are more quickly transcended, favoring inner transformation, the healing of deep wounds and the transmutation of patterns of flight and non-confrontation.

Accessibility of ecovillages and intentional communities

Most of the established ecovillages in Spain and in Europe are currently not open to new people who would like to try out if these proposals could be for them or their families, and/or learn from their journey.

Unfortunately, since the beginning of the so-called pandemic, in many cases it has become more difficult to get access to and/or even go to live near an ecovillage, as there are no living spaces left either in the ecovillages or in the surrounding area.But, not all of them are closed!

Fortunately, there are more and more permaculture projects and ecovillages like IKI-GAIA that are materialising and starting their journey on this path of looking for alternatives to the current system to cohabit our land in a more conscious way.

Embracing all generations

How we bring new beings into the world and how we accompany the process from gestation to the first years of life is key, together with the transformation of the educational system, in the development of a new paradigm and, therefore, our central pillar in IKI-GAIA. That is why we are already in full swing with organizing the educational proposal for the next school year.

In order to be coherent with the new Humanity and to be able to close the cycle of life, it is fundamental to see how we care for our elders, integrate them into our community and accompany them in their old age (until they say goodbye to this life).

IKI-GAIA, un proyecto de construcción de ecoaldea de los nuevos tiempos abierto a nuevas incorporaciones

Poniendo el foco en la recuperación de nuestras soberanías en las área de la alimentación, la educación, las energías, el desarrollo del SER (cuidado del individuo y sus relaciones), el agua y la fertilidad/regeneración de la tierra (cuidado de madre Gaia), el reparto de la abundancia (cuidado de los excedentes), la sostenibilidad en general y en dejarles un futuro más resiliente a las próximas generaciones, por nombrar algunos de los objetivos, IKI-GAIA es un modelo de resiliencia y creatividad de los nuevos tiempos. Una propuesta inspiradora para dejar brotar el nuevo paradigma.

Proyecto piloto, cuyo objetivo a corto/medio plazo es favorecer la repoblación rural y creación de empleo en esta zona rural de Málaga, mientras se avanza en la cocreación de una Centro de InspiraSanaAcción (Escuela de Permacultura y de Vida) para todas las generaciones y, a largo plazo (entre 6 y 7 años) en el desarrollo de un nuevo modelo de humanidad.

Cómo traemos nuevos seres al mundo y cómo acompañamos el proceso desde la gestación hasta los primeros años de vida, es clave, junto a la transformación del sistema educativo, en el desarrollo de un nuevo paradigma y, por tanto, nuestro gran pilar central en IKI-GAIA. Es por ello, que ya estamos a tope organizando la propuesta educativa para el próximo curso escolar.

Para ser coherentes con la nueva Humanidad y poder cerrar también el ciclo de la vida, es fundamental ver cómo atendemos a nuestros mayores, los integramos en nuestra comunidad y los acompañamos en su vejez (hasta la despedida de esta vida).

ISKA INTERGENERATIONAL SEMINARS AND "BELONGING" PROGRAMME OF IKI-GAIA

Boosting the COMMON-UNITY

Impulsando la COMÚN-UNIDAD

Los seminarios ISKA donde se aplica en la práctica la pedagogía Schetinin son parte del programa de desarrollo individual y grupal de IKI-GAIA llamado  “PERTENESER” : un programa básico anual de creación de COMUN-UNIDAD que también incluye cursos de CNV, autoconoci-acierto, Sociocracia, dinámicas grupales, resolución de conflictos, cursos de facilitación de grupos (para entender a nivel sistémico las dinámicas que se dan en estos procesos), y muchas más propuestas para fomentar la formación de una ecoaldea.

Participar en un campamento de una semana o seminario formativo de dos semanas (como el C1 que ofrecemos en Navidades) te permite, además de conocer las ventajas de esta pedagogía y esta estructura que estamos viendo de implementar en nuestro día a día, y a partir de septiembre en la propuesta educativa, acelerar procesos individuales necesarios para entrenar el músculo de la convivencia y la vida en COMÚN-UNIDAD.

En el seminario intergeneracional propuesto del 1 al 7 de Julio, todos los seres (participantes de todas las edades, el equipo de ISKA y el grupo motor de la ecoaldea) compartimos experiencias, espacios, conocimientos, dones y talentos y aprendemos a colaborar, expresar necesidades/límites/sentimientos, tomar decisiones conjuntas y a convivir de forma orgánica y armoniosa.

Shaping the New Humanity

Proposals for all generations

We get up in the morning around 7am and do sports together, then we continue with brain training. We have breakfast around 8:30. After a happy breakfast, we revitalize the body through different activities.

The whole day will be structured by a short and varied sequence of different topics (among them mathematics, activities in the garden, biology, sourdough bread workshop, baking and pizza making...) which enables us to experience the advantages and benefits of constantly activating both hemispheres of the brain.

In the evening, around 20:00, we meet in a cosy atmosphere and share what has happened during the day. We talk about how we feel, what challenges us and we deal with possible tensions and processes with love and emphaty so that they do not accumulate. We create deep connections.

Although the programme is full of proposals and activities, during the seminar, there will also be "ME" time and family time, as well as time for connecting with others in a non-programmed environment.

Progress on Permaculture and Upcoming seminars:

The 1st seminar on Water Retention in Landscapes at IKI-GAIA was a great success and brought the rain. Don't miss these impressions!

We are in full swing with the preparation of the garden and the first crops are coming in: Lettuce and zucchini! Tomatoes and Peppers in bloom. We are also suffering losses due to pests.... We still have to improve the soil! That's why Nicole is in full speed with the JADAM!

After a loss of 100'000 Liters of water due to a burst pipe (factory failure!), we have bought a pump to pump water from the fountain next to the house to the Flexi tanks 50m higher on the rock. Both are almost full! In total we have 200'000 Liters which helps us to overcome the drought!

 

Osiris and Daniel are working every day for a few hours with the mini excavator. Meter by meter they are advancing with the infiltration trench (aka Swale). Where the surplus of the fountain flows and infiltrates to take advantage of every drop of water that our beautiful fountain gives us!

We have also taken advantage of the rain and we have planted many shrubs such as: Atriplex, Vitex, Retama, Laurel... Thanks PERMANESER.ORG team!!!
We have also planted green fertilizer.

 

We are in full preparation for the course of creation of natural swimming pool... Most importantly we have finished THE PROMO VIDEO!!!

Seminar on water retention in the landscape

Holy water! Seminar on water retention in the landscape


Water, the messenger. Water falls, irrigates, flows, infiltrates, is distributed and gives life.

In the seminar on Water Retention in Landscapes that took place from 19-21 May 2023 in the ecovillage project IKI-GAIA, we learned with a group of over 35 attendees how to pacify water and make the best use of this natural resource to generate abundance.

Under the guidance of Daniel Stocker and Seth Thompson, we learned the principles and techniques of water management in landscapes. In addition, we were able to practice what we learned on IKI Gaia's land where we measured, dug and planted an infiltration trench, made clay mounds to see in a small model how different water retention techniques can be applied in the landscape, etc.

Guided water meditations and group dynamics helped us to establish a deep connection with water and with each other and the integration of the 2 hemispheres of the brain to favour a more effective learning (to know more about the techniques of the Schetinin pedagogy that we are bringing to Spain, click here).

This seminar was the 4th Module of the cycle of courses on Permaculture organised by Permaneser, a collective of Permaculture educational projects in the province of Malaga.

We would like to thank all the Permaneseres for this wonderful weekend, full of learning, laughter and water, blessing us from both earth and sky!

TEKOS SCHOOL ( RUSSIA)

The official mathematics curriculum that other children do in 10 years of schooling at Tekos they learn it all in 1 year. They also cover the entire high school curriculum in one year, and many of them acquire university degrees by the age of 17.

When they study, they don't worry about grades, but about how they will explain what they have learned to their peers and how they will be able to pass it on. That is the motivation they need to learn, because what they have learned, they will have to teach to future generations.

They have been entrusted with the principle of the learning process and place great importance on service to others. What they do learn very well is to understand the soul, aspirations and thoughts of other individuals. Mathematics in itself is not important, but as a process towards TRUTH.

...in the afternoon they always take an hour to reflect on the day and their relationships with each other and the world.

DAY BY DAY AT SCHOOL

Their schedules are divided between cooking, carpentry, construction, painting frescoes on the walls…

🥗 They cook their own meals, do administrative tasks and write their own textbooks. They contemplate the meaning of the Universe and swim in mountain streams. They dance, draw, sing and pick strawberries in the surrounding fields...They master ancient folk crafts awakening their ancestral memory, which goes beyond any written history we now know; they work and write their own text books....

Girls choose not to wear mini-skirts, make-up or flashy jewelry. They are not interested in TV or video games.

In general they have hardly any teachers, only a few teachers of music, English, sewing... The boarding school is organized in groups of pupils where a mentor is in charge of 4 children younger than him to support them in everything and not allow them to fall behind in their studies.

FACILITIES

The children and teenagers have designed, built and decorated their own campus. All the school facilities, including study spaces, an auditorium, administrative office, kitchen area, dining area, toilets, showers, flats and other facilities have been designed and built by the students.

All these construction works are full of delicacy and beauty and reflect the inner nature and talents of the students and the excellent quality of school activities. 

ISKA CONCEPT

ISKA is a "happy learning space" where education is the central pillar, along with healing and community, and where transformation is allowed to emerge.

This energetic field that is created is where we are all allowed to unfold and step into our power. It is created through a lot of mindfulness, trust, enthusiasm, clear structures, humility, high vibration, awareness, self-discipline, respect, joy, willingness, ability to let go and work on detachment and being of service.

ISKA, thanks to Schetinin's impulses and techniques, has created a model that allows (or encourages) the power, gifts and talents of beings to flourish, promoting the development of the BEING in its fullest expression.

The model has the capacity to foster a new humanity and a new union.

Desde hace 3 décadas, un visionario ruso, Mikhail Schetinin, ha estado rompiendo los puntos de vista, tanto tradicionales como "alternativos", sobre la educación, creando al mismo tiempo, el nuevo futuro de la humanidad.

Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Thanks to Josef, the only person authorised by Shetinin to promote the pedagogy outside of Russia, and the hard work of the ISKA embaators, the pedagogy has been spreading more and more in German-speaking countries for almost 4 years now. Spain

With the support of ISKA, cooperation partner Rakel is in the process of setting up a school project in IKI-GAIA by September 2023 and building a strong network in Spain together with like-minded people who are willing to try out this wonderful model.

Thanks to Rakel's association "Semilla Monte Alegre", since March this year also ISKA seminars are offered in Spanish speaking countries in her ecovillage IKI-GAIA. For the first time, the seminars are held in Spanish and in a total of 3 languages (also in English and German!!).

Seminar on Educational Research according to M. P. Schetinin

This seminar is ideal to get a first impression of M. P. Schetinin's pedagogy. The seminar allows you to experience exemplary practice sequences, to learn in small groups and to immerse yourself in the daily structure of this wonderful learning method.

We welcome everyone who would like to join us on the way to "happy learning" for themselves and for our children.

Multicultural Family Camps/Seminars according to M. P. Schetinin

Through this proposal, children of all generations are integrated into a natural and living structure based on Schetinin's pedagogy, in which a lot of joy of life is generated within families and between families.

Seminars for young people

Together we shape our days, from the moment we get up to the moment we go to bed. We create new things in meaningful projects about nature. We make crafts, we cook, we dance, we sing, we carve, we play, we are creative, with and in nature. We immerse ourselves in moving conversations and share our diverse and insightful experiences.

Specialized seminars

These are seminars on specific topics that allow us to deepen our knowledge of certain subjects and trades (communication, carpentry, permaculture, raw vegan cooking, etc.), which are developed according to the structure of this pedagogy and constantly activate both hemispheres of the brain.

From the end of September/beginning of October, at IKI-GAIA we will also be organizing permaculture seminars according to this model for all generations!

IKI-GAIA is a regenerative and sustainable project that seeks sovereignty in all areas and reconnection with our individual, group and planetary ikigai or "meaning of life", so that all generations can once again live together and support each other in absolute harmony and cooperation with nature.

Rakel, founder of the ecovillage IKI-GAIA, is an anthropologist, journalist, expert in ecovillage design and education for sustainability and facilitator of processes aimed at accelerating the development of the New Humanity. Together with her partner Daniel, a Swiss expert in permaculture and water retention in landscapes, as well as a Jazz bass player and IT expert, Rakel has managed to bring to life this great vision to create the basis for a new Humanity.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE OPENING OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROJECT IN SEPT. 2023

At the beginning of September we will run the 2-week ISKA certified level 1 seminar (to which we offer a limited number of places to interested people) to deepen the knowledge of mathematics and biology and to initiate the whole school community in sync.

During the months of April, May and June we will hold 1-day introductory seminars in 3 languages in our ecovillage (Spanish, German and English). To see our event calendar click here. It is essential to have participated in a 1-day seminar in order to participate in a 2-week seminar.
