FIRST STEPS TOGETHER

And you? When are you coming to meet us and feel IKI-GAIA?

There are several ways to approach IKI-GAIA in this pioneering phase:

  • Doing “experiential Iki-tourism” and collaborating a few hours a day in the ecovillage by staying in our IKI-GAIA hostel, camping or spending a few days in your caravan. Places are very limited and priority is given to IKI-GAIA members and sympathising members!
  • Participating in the monthly music event that we have open every month (See below the pictures of the June event and the next proposed dates).
  • About-volunteering (at the moment we only welcome profiles with experience in masonry, carpentry, bio-construction, electricity, plumbing, Permaculture and similar and we have 2 places for experienced companions from alternative schools etc.).

Write to us giving us as much details as possible about your availability and motivation so that we can share the details with you and check the availability of the group to host you.

ACTIVATING SUMMER AGENDA

We are happy to share with you that we are already planning to host another event with live music and vegan catering in July so you can feel IKI-GAIA live!!. Make a reservation in your diary for the 22nd of July from 19h.

If you can’t come, we advise you to come to an online meeting to feel us on both sides and move forward with the process of getting closer to each other.

AUGUST

We will soon share with you the dates and proposals open to sympathising members and the general public.

SEPTEMBER

This year we are hosting a multi-meeting of the RIE (Iberian ecovillage network) in our own space. We are happy to welcome you and hope that you can spend a few days co-creating a beautiful event full of sharing from the heart, SaLUZ and LIFE and full of visions that will allow us to continue weaving the network of Change.

THE INTERGENERATIONAL AND MULTICULTURAL TRIBE OF IKI-GAIA

Intergenerational

We celebrate that in IKI-GAIA we are already 40 adults + 18 children /teenagers of different nationalities, who have gathered resources, gifts and talents and that we have ALREADY!! put in writing (by signing contracts and sending participation fees to the project account) our commitment to IKI-GAIA. There are less and less places left for pioneers at this stage! Start the process to apply to become a pioneer and/or reserve (up to 3 years) a place, and keep preparing yourself…,

Abundance

We already have more than 10 social lenders (who invest between 10.000 (minimum to be a social lender) and 175.000€) who support us by lending us money to be paid back in 5 years, most of it interest free 😉. Some of them with the intention of spending some time with us to feel if it is their project, while they are preparing themselves, to join and then move on to another membership figure of more active participation and to be able to reserve a plot of land.  Others invest in IKI-GAIA, aware of the urgency of investing in projects that favor the development of a new humanity!

Approaches

This month we are accompanying 15 adults and 11 children in the process of approaching and feeling if it is IKI-GAIA, here in the subtropical south of Europe (Malaga) and with our tribe where they want to project themselves, and us with them;)

The next face-to-face meeting where those who are advancing in the process will be able to meet a large part of the driving group, the wonderful place and all the details of the project (timeline, participation models, how the exit of the project works and returns, etc.)

LAST PLACES FOR PIONEERS

There are less and less places left to participate in the 1st phase of IKI-GAIA before the opening of the campsite estimated in 2 years, which we have limited to 20 nuclei (groups of coexistence or individuals) in order to create the structure and the bases of the project that will make possible the entrance of more beings starting from the 3rd year when the singular bioclimatic campsite is officially open.

If our project resonates with you, if you want to live your dream NOW and you feel like a pioneer, you are still in time! There are some places left for PAMEF (pioneer stable founding member aspirant), and some more for AMEPAF (passive stable founding member aspirant) where you can, in addition to benefiting from all the advantages of founders, reserve a plot or an eco-bungalow in the campsite for up to 3 years.

BASIC INFORMATION

This following month of April we celebrate the big step of the acquisition of the land. We have organized the last gathering for those interested in joining us as founders of IKI-GAIA .

The event from 28th  April to 1st May will be held in our space in Almayate.

If you want to join us, we need you to fill this form and send us an email to semilla@semillamontealegre.org confirming your attendance as soon as possible.

The meals, prepared with love (organic and vegan), for all the event from Thursday to breakfast on Tuesday, both included, will be managed by Semilla Monte Alegre to facilitate eating in a circle of sharing.

During those days it is not allowed to organize your meals individually, only for babies and people with special needs that request it.

Payments for the meals will be done the first day of arrival, after breakfast, according to the schedule established by the Treasury.

The organic and vegan menus are, generally, gluten and lactose free, and with no sugars added. For breakfast and snacks, we offer seasonal fruit and homemade rye and spelt bread with sourdough, as well as gluten-free bread. If you have any food intolerance or need a gluten-free breakfast, write it in the questionnaire.

ARRIVALS: We welcome you from Thursday on  (the program will begin Friday at 9 a.m.)

DEPARTURES: It is possible to stay until Monday in our space close to the coast in Almayate (10 or 15€ / night).  very limited spaces!!

CONTRIBUTIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT

The amounts have been calculated to cover the costs of all the organizers and the logistics of the event, so that the organization of these gatherings are neither an additional human and financial cost, nor do they generate debts for our project.

This contribution is part of the booking that you have to send us through bank transfer to the bank account number above.

The participation in this event has a fixed cost of 50€ per adult (children free) to cover the logistics costs (with independence of the participation days). An exception can be made to allow the participation in only 1 day (Saturday) of the event to those interested who live close by and are already advanced in the process of approaching the project.

BOOKING ACCOMMODATION:

To book a bed in the event, write to us as soon as possible or call us: we are closing registrations this Friday!!

We have some private accommodation and also in sharing spaces. Contact us to know the availability and the prices.

You can also sleep in your own van or motorhome, or pitch a tent (we can offer tents if you don’t have one) for a contribution of 5€ per adult and day (8€ couples and families).

CONTRIBUTIONS FOR MEALS (you can pay the meals in cash during the event, no bank transfers needed!! You only need to pay the fixed participation cost for the event to book your place.

The fixed contribution for meals per adult for the event is 75€ (total), with independence of the arrival and departure dates within the event schedule. The contribution of those who only take part in the tour is 25€.

Those who arrive before Friday or stay after Sunday have to make a contribution per meal of 10€ (lunch/dinner) and 5€ (breakfast).

CHILDREN:

Children under 2 yrs: free.

Children 2-5 yrs per day: 12€

Children 6-12 yrs per day: 18€

All throughout the day, there will be tea, herbal teas, nuts and fruit at your disposal.

ONLINE INTIMATE MEETING FOR MEMBERS

We have created these 2 formats (online and in person) in order to get to know each other and the possible synergies that may arise after these more intimate meetings with those of you who resonate with our project and our moment.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we have already scheduled February's monthly intimate online meeting for this Sunday 13rd from 8pm to 9pm to deepen our knowledge and collaborations with those of you who are already sympathetic members (you have taken step 2 of our process of getting to know each other).

In March it will be on 13ten.

In the intimate meetings you are the protagonists. We will be happy to dedicate space to listen to your feelings and concerns about the project and we will try to answer your questions as best we can.

 

If you are a member of our association, we invite you to send us your questions before the meeting so that we can prepare some additional material that may help you to understand some aspects.

INTIMATE FACE-TO-FACE ECOVILLAGE MEETINGS

Every month we open our space and hearts to those of you who are moving forward in your process of following the call to join an ecovillage project and resonate with our proposal, so that you can get to know a large part of the founding core group and the wonderful place of the Healing Biotope and its key projects.

To participate in our intimate cohabitation meetings, it is indispensable to have taken step 2 of our Approaching process and to have read the extended information that we share with the members. Very limited vacancies!

SLOW-TOUR OF PERMACULTURE IN FEBRUARY (FORMATIVE WORKSHOP)

 

Due to the amount of requests we are receiving from people who want to do the approaching with us taking advantage of a training, we have decided to make a gap in our busy schedule (due to the process of growing to ecovillage 😉 we are not focused on trainings right now). It will be next Saturday 12th February.

At the same time that we can get to know each other better, in this Permaculture course you will have the opportunity to see and learn about the advantages of Permaculture and its tangible results in one of the farms that we have been coordinating for years in Macharaviaya (Málaga)

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN FEBRUARY GAIA EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY

We return to give focus and structure to the extra-curricular activities 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) with enriching and very original learning proposals for our kids and their families. Always in the afternoons from 15h to 20h/20h30h.

MONDAY: EXTRACURRICULAR CLASSES OF MUSIC AND PERMACULTURE

 

We return to accompany the little ones in an environment of musical and sustainable learning.

On Mondays the music classes (piano, double bass...) and the school organic garden will be guided and accompanied by the great jazz double bass player and renowned Swiss permaculturist Daniel Stocker.

WEDNESDAY 9 FEBRUARY FROM 15:00 TO 17:00: FAMILY YOGA PROPOSAL

Led by Cristina Sosa, a yoga teacher trained in France and specialised in the transmission of Yoga adapted to the world of children.

We inaugurate yoga workshops in tribe once a month. Yoga in family, accompanies us to share in a positive, creative and loving form. Where play and compassionate attention are our guides. The sessions are made up of exercises of concentration, attention, balance, breathing through duo practices. At the end of the session, we return to calm, centre ourselves and share our feelings.

FRIDAYS: GAIA-SLOW TOURS

After a short break, we are excited to inform you that we have started  with this venture that promotes multicultural and intergenerational exchange, while we value our environment, culture and customs of the hand of Rakel Dominguez (anthropologist, permaculture, sustainability educator, manager of the Gaia Learning community and main promoter of the ecovillage IKI-GAIA).

Would you like to know more about the new educational project of IKI-GAIA from its promoter?

If so, great, because we have started the period this new year with the Friday afternoon excursions from 15h to 20h open to families who want to get to know us or complement the educational proposal of their children in the open air and learning about sustainability.

The next excursion of our educational project where you can join us and learn more about the IKI-GAIA educational cooperative project that is being developed will be next Friday afternoon, 11 February in Maro.

HAVE A LOOK AT THE OPTIONS YOU HAVE TO ADD YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO IKI-GAIA AND COLLABORATE WITH THE FIRST PROJECTS OF THE BIOTOPE

We would like to use this internal communication to let you know that we are working on the launch of the first open crowdfunding to cover the minimum investments that the project needs in this Phase I to take off with force, and that we have calculated in 300,000 €: reforms of some infrastructures of the farmhouse that allow us to have larger communal rooms for the educational project and the Music Academy, tanks to store the water of the fountain, implementation of the food forest, earthworks to prepare the space where we will install the first caravans, etc.

From the IKI-GAIA motor group we feel that we can reach at least 225.000€ of the 300.000€ we need with your help. On the one hand, we would like that this first economic impulse that we need arrives blessed from this closest circle, with money coming from your hands. And on the other hand, we are aware that launching crowdfunding campaigns of more than 75.000€ are very difficult and there is a risk of having to return everything if it is not reached.

!!For us it would be wonderful to undertake the first investments with the economy gathered by our motor group and your trust before launching the more open campaign that we are preparing!!

XVIII ANDALUSIAN FAIR FOR AGRICULTURAL BIODIVERSITY

Semilla Monte Alegre participates with 2 stands at the fair where it will present the progress of the various projects it promotes, including the co-creation of a SanaAcción Biotope and a sustainable ecovillage in the Axarquia region of Malaga where they grow from a Gaia Learning Community to a school of life for all generations.

WHEN?

Semilla Monte Alegre will make 2 short presentations both days from 13:30 to 14:00 and from 17 to 17:30h on Saturday at the sales stand of the association. In addition you can learn about family massage with "Kansu Bowl".

WHAT IS THE FABA?

The Andalusian Fair of Agricultural Biodiversity (FABA) is the annual meeting of people and groups committed to local, traditional varieties and seed exchange in Andalusia.

It is an event open to the general public, free of charge, and for those people or groups interested in cultivated biodiversity in particular.

OBJECTIVE

The FABA (ANDALUSIAN FAIR OF AGRICULTURAL BIODIVERSITY) also aims to create a space where farmers can exchange seeds and share traditional knowledge associated with their management.
This annual event addresses the different aspects of the dynamic and community management of cultivated biodiversity.

FABA PROGRAM

Our Gaia Learning Community has been selected to share its experience in this international summit.  The return to the countryside is a process that, as we see, after the Pandemic is happening more consciously among large sectors of the population that yearn for a lifestyle more in harmony with their values, reconnection with Nature, peace and tranquility, and that, when we have children, we have considered more than once.

Many of us feel, as a result of becoming parents, that we have no choice but to be consistent with the lifestyle and values we want to instill in them.

Our children and great teachers help us to reconnect with the source and move mountains if necessary, to take the step. The union in this sense with initiatives and human beings in the same search that want to co-responsible for the education of their children and are aware of the role of referents that we have while we accompany them in this stage, is a guarantee of success and co-creation of the collective experience that we want to live and offer them.

With joy we announce and welcome you to the first open day meeting of the IKI-GAIA ecovillage of the fall where we invite you to come (and / or see us again), to study together this opportunity that is presented to us and we do not want to miss!!!… because it is about co- creating and investing in our future now!!!

You will have the opportunity to learn about our educational community project GAIA that wants to grow into an educational cooperative and the manifestation of our great dream and life journey: the ecovillage IKIGAIA. In addition, you will learn about the opportunities and great advantages that we offer to co-founders of the project who bet on IKI-GAIA in this phase prior to the signing of the purchase of the place! Process that we want to carry out after this event with your granite of love and confidence!!!

This option of 0 risk in case that for some reason beyond our control, the acquisition of the land or the opening of the campsite does not materialize is a unique opportunity because you would only have to wait 3 years to recover your/your deposit, if for some reason you do not want to continue with the project. DETAILED SCHEDULE OF THE EVENT OCTOBER 21 to 24

Un reencuentro de almas unidas bajo un MISMO SUEÑO COMÚN

BASIC INFORMATION

The event from 21 to 24 October will be held in a resort in the Axarquia if a minimum of rooms are booked, otherwise it will be in our space in Almayate.

The space chosen for this autumn meeting is located in a wonderful resort with capacity for a large group that we want to rent with your reservations of beds to take care of the rest and welfare of the group. If we do not manage to reserve a minimum of 20 beds, the meeting will be held in our space in Almayate.

The lovingly prepared vegan meals for the whole event from Thursday 21st, including the dinner on Sunday 24th October, will be managed by Semilla Monte Alegre with organic products.

During these days it is not allowed to organize individual meals, only in case of babies and people with special needs who request it.

Payments for meals can be made on the first day of arrival after breakfast at the established times for the treasury.

The organic and vegan menus are generally gluten, lactose and added sugar free. For breakfasts and snacks we will offer seasonal fruit (mangoes) and mango smoothie from our farm + homemade bread made with rye and spelt sourdough, and, for gluten-free, buckwheat.

TICKETS: From Thursday 21 October possible.

Friday 22nd at 10 am we will start the rich program that we are preparing adapted to the final number, needs and ages of all participants. We will offer an early morning Yoga session and a delicious breakfast before starting with the group dynamics to get to know each other and deepen the vision of IKIGAIA and the vision of each being.
In the afternoon we will focus on the GAIA Learning Community and we will make a GAIA Slow excursion with the tribe of the event and the chikis who want to join us from 15h to 20h. This part of the program is open to friends/family members who would like to meet us by confirming their attendance in advance.

Saturday morning we will have a guided tour of the farm that we are going to acquire after a brief visual presentation. In the afternoon we will continue to discuss details of the accommodations, key projects, renovations to existing infrastructure, planned construction, timeline, etc.

Sunday morning before the rich Valencian paella chupadedos a lo Pedro will be the day to delve into legal issues, bureaucratic, participation models, details of the educational project, etc..

The event will officially end at 17h on Sunday 24th. Although for that afternoon we will offer to those who have time, a last guided visit to the project's farm to feel it again and close the event sharing a delicious cake and harvesting feedbacks in the Nature.

CONTRIBUTIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE 3-DAY EVENT

There will be tea and infusions, coffee, nuts and fruit available throughout the day offered from the event.

IKI-GAIA Eko-plan for planetary eco-heritage

Living in a tribe, doing what we like and developing our gifts and talents, feeling useful until the end of our days and integrated in a community, are guarantors of happiness/longevity.

After 10 years of experimenting community life in rented and ceded spaces, promoting permaculture, sustainable living and the recovery of our sovereignties by example, and investigating land and legal/administrative strategies to carry out a holistic ecovillage project on rustic land where we can focus on water retention and regeneration of our environment, the time has finally come to give birth to IKI-GAIA in a space of our own!

In Spain, as in a large part of the planet, it is very complicated to start projects in rural areas (and even more so in collective projects) due to the legal obstacles we find when it comes to building. Hence, our model of alternative educational project (free school) + sustainable human settlement (ecovillage), which already has urban viability, is a great opportunity to promote rural repopulation and job creation, as well as to facilitate living in coherence to all beings who feel called to return to the land and cultivate their food and health in an environment of nature, respect and mutual support.

Although nowadays many people approach this type of project because they see it as a “way out” to survive the collapse of civilisation and the systemic crisis we are experiencing, we want to notice that more than a way out, for us it is a way in, an invitation to live in coherence with our most human values and principles, those that have allowed the continuation of the species.

IKI-GAIA is a warm invitation to connect with your ikigai (reason for being or life purpose), to develop your unique gifts and talents and to live in TRIBU embracing all generations, as we have always done if we look a little further back in history.
